Kids and Cancun, a Perfect Match!
January 18, 2024
Besides the glorious sun, the white sand beaches that don't burn your feet, and the Caribbean Sea practically at your doorstep, there are many fun things to do with kids of all ages. Here are a few ideas you might want to run by the kids!
Garrafon Park
Garrafon Park is one of our beautiful region's most popular places at fabulous Isla Mujeres. With activities for kids and adults alike and surrounded by an insanely beautiful natural environment, make sure this visit is on your list. This complex offers an incredible range of activities for visitors of all ages, such as Zip-Lines, Snorkeling, Kayaks, Swimming with Dolphins, and much more.
Jungle Tours
One of the most popular activities in Cancun is the Jungle Tour Adventure®. It is a guided tour that gives you an adrenaline rush and allows you to drive the speedboat. You will have expert guides showing you the thrill of a speedboat and the beauty of snorkeling in the crystal-clear turquoise waters of Cancun. In addition, you will have a local guide who can show you the area's wildlife and take you through the mangroves at Nichupte Lagoon. The snorkeling and speed boat tour also includes snorkeling in the beautiful shallow water coral reef of Punta Nizuc, also called "The Great Mayan Reef." This location is where part of the MUSA underwater museum gallery is located (advanced swimmers only). It's an excellent experience for water lovers, snorkeling, and boating.
Croco Cun Park
Croco Cun Zoo is a pro-conservation zoo home to crocodiles, snakes, monkeys, and more. Visiting this immersive zoo is also one of the most exciting activities in Cancun for kids. Once at the zoo, the children will have experiences such as holding and feeding different animals. The Zoo Rangers will provide facts about each animal, allowing them to keep snakes and feed small crocodiles. Picture-taking will be possible. It will be great fun for all.
Cancun Wax Museum
Located within La Isla Shopping Village at KM 16.5 of the Hotel Zone, the Cancun Wax Museum is good family fun. Cancún Wax Museum (Museo de Cera Cancún) is the city's only one. You can marvel at over 100 national and international figures from music, cinema, and sport—including Amy Winehouse, Madonna, and David Beckham—and cartoon characters. It's a fun family visit and a great option if you want to do something on a rainy day!
Check out Iguanas at the Ruinas del Rey
You and your family can visit Ruinas Del Rey, located inside the Cancun hotel zone, without going too far. These Mayan ruins are much closer than other sites, such as Chichen Itza or Tulum; however, they are also quite a bit smaller, but if you are staying in Cancun and wish to see some of these fantastic sites, starting with the closest one is a great way to begin. Make sure you bring a camera with you! The kids will be eager to show their pictures to their friends!
